What the grade measures
- Crawler access. Your robots.txt, parsed by user-agent group, for GPTBot, ClaudeBot, OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, Amazonbot, CCBot, Bytespider: allowed, disallowed, or unmentioned. A blanket "Disallow: /" counts as blocked.
- Machine-readable surfaces. Presence and HTTP status of /llms.txt, /sitemap.xml, /.well-known/x402, /.well-known/agent-card.json, /.well-known/mcp-registry-auth, /openapi.json, /ai.txt. Catch-all HTML pages do not count.
- Readability without JavaScript. Visible text in your raw HTML, external script count, empty-root-container detection and <noscript>: readable, partly JS-dependent, or JS-only shell.
- Structured data. JSON-LD blocks and their @type values, plus Open Graph title and description.
- Legal notices. The TAKE IT DOWN desk check: six required notices and request mechanisms.
- MCP census entry. Whether the agent-economy index lists your host among sites selling to agents, and whether /mcp answers.
Each area scores 0–2, total out of 12: A 11–12B 9–10C 7–8D 5–6F 0–4. Areas that cannot be measured are reported as such and left out of the scale.
Method: server-side fetches with a 7-second timeout each, run in parallel. Redirects are followed manually; private hosts, raw IPs and non-default ports are refused; images and binaries are never downloaded. Limit: 30 grades per hour per IP. Results are cached for 15 minutes.
